Program Description:

STARSkate Development is a 2 day/week program for skaters Stage 4+ or those who have been invited. The focus is on completing CanSkate at an accelerated rate while also having a stronger focus on figure skating specific skills. Figure skates are highly recommended. Groups are smaller and the program includes a station where skaters work on their own with supervision. On-ice sessions are also longer than regular CanSkate sessions.

Skaters must wear figure skates.

CSA approved hockey or ski helmet is mandatory & facemasks are highly recommended for beginner to Stage 3 skaters. Hockey or figure skates are permitted. 

CanSkate is Skate Canada’s flagship learn-to-skate program, designed for children 4 years and up. The program focuses on fun, participation and basic skill development for figure skating, hockey, ringette and speed skating. Pre-CanSkate is offered on the same session as CanSkate and is an early incentive stage for new skaters.

Program Description:

MEMBERS OF THIS PROGRAM MUST BE REGISTERED WITH BEDFORD MINOR HOCKEY'S FUNDAMENTALS PROGRAM!

 

Skaters are required to wear full gear on the ice but sticks are not permitted. This session will focus on basic skating development while sessions at BMO will have more hockey-specific skills.

Fees for this program are included in your BDMHA registration.

PLEASE NOTE: This program is run according to Skate Canada requirements. Ribbons are handed out at the end of each class for those who have earned them that day. EACH SKATER WILL EARN AT LEAST 1 RIBBON THROUGHOUT THE SEASON.
